🎨 MixMatched Creations: Children’s Art Program

Inspiring Creativity, Confidence & Joy Through Art

Welcome to the MixMatched Creations Children’s Art Program — a warm, uplifting, and skill-building art experience designed for young artists ages 6–12.

This 6-week fine-art program helps kids build:

✔ Creativity
✔ Confidence
✔ Problem-solving skills
✔ Emotional resilience
✔ Real artistic technique

Each class is 1 hour, filled with engaging instruction, hands-on creativity, and plenty of encouragement from instructor Jess Rothstein and her classroom assistant.

All materials, cleanup, and supervision are provided — so parents can simply drop off, relax, and watch their children grow week after week.

🌟 What Makes This Program Special

A Structured, Skill-Building Art Program

Over six weeks, students learn foundational art techniques such as:

  • Color blending

  • Brush control

  • Shapes-based drawing

  • Texture creation

  • Layering and dimension

  • Light, shadow, and depth

  • …and more!

Lessons are taught in a way that feels easy, fun, and confidence-boosting — no pressure, no perfection, just progress.

Positive, Supportive Learning Environment

Every class includes gentle affirmations to help children feel safe, steady, and proud of their efforts:

Class Motto:
“I imagine. I create. I improve.”

Frustration Reset Phrase:
“Mistakes are part of the magic. Every time I try again, I get better.”

These phrases help kids build self-belief, patience, and emotional resilience — tools they carry far beyond art class.

Instructor & Assistant Supervision

Your child is supported every step of the way.

  • The instructor is present and hands-on for the entire class.

  • A classroom assistant attends every session to help with supplies, technique guidance, and student support.

  • All students are supervised 100% of the time.

🖌️ The 6-Week Format

While each session’s projects may change, the structure remains the same:

Weeks 1–5: Building Skills & Creativity

Students learn step-by-step art techniques and complete a new project each week.
Every lesson builds on the last, helping young artists gradually improve their foundation, skills, and confidence.

Week 6: The Celebration Week (2-Hour Class)

The final week of the program runs 2 hours instead of 1 hour.

Hour 1

Students complete their final painting, showcasing everything they’ve learned.

Hour 2: Student Art Showcase

Parents and family members are invited to come in and view the children's artwork from the entire 6-week session.
Students get to proudly display their progress, talk about their creations, and celebrate alongside their classmates.

At the end of the showcase, each child receives a "Certificate of Completion" — a keepsake celebrating their growth, hard work, and creativity.

This final celebration is often a favorite memory for both students and families.

🎨 Materials & Safety

Everything is provided:

  • Non-toxic, child-safe acrylic paints

  • Canvases

🌼 Optional Seasonal Sessions

After each 6-week program, families may enroll in additional sessions throughout the year.
Each new session features fresh themes, new projects, and age-appropriate skills so returning students can continue progressing — while new students can jump in at any time.

📝 Registration & Payment

All classes must be registered and paid for in full before the program begins in order to reserve your child’s seat.
Because class sizes are small and materials are purchased ahead of time, spots cannot be held without payment.

Registration and payment can be completed directly through my website, making it quick and easy to secure your child’s place in the upcoming session.

❄️ Snow Day & Weather Policy

Because this program takes place during the winter months, weather delays may occasionally happen.

If the church closes due to snow or unsafe road conditions:

  • The class will be postponed to the next available week

  • The session will shift forward by one week if needed

  • Parents will be notified by email and/or text as early as possible

🧑🎨 Missed Class Policy (Child Absence)

Because each week builds on previous skills, attendance is important — but life happens.

If a child cannot attend a class:

  • They will receive the same supplies and materials used that week

  • Jess will send a simple written or video instruction so they can complete the project at home

  • Their absence will NOT affect their participation in the final showcase

  • No refunds or credits are issued for missed classes

💳 Refund Policy (Nonrefundable Program)

To secure your child’s spot and prepare materials in advance, all payments are:

🔥 Nonrefundable
🔥 Nontransferable
🔥 Due at registration

This is extremely standard for children’s art programs because:

  • Materials are purchased ahead of time

  • Spots are limited

  • Waitlisted families cannot fill a seat last-minute

Special Circumstances Policy

MixMatched Creations understands that unexpected situations may arise.
While all registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable, the instructor may offer a one-time class credit in certain special circumstances, including:

  • Extended medical illness

  • Emergency family situations

  • Severe weather events causing multiple cancellations

  • Any circumstance deemed appropriate by the instructor

Credits are not guaranteed and are issued solely at the discretion of the instructor.
If a credit is granted, it may be applied to a future class session only and cannot be exchanged for a refund.

This policy allows us to keep class sizes small and materials prepared while still supporting families during genuine emergencies.
