Children's Creative Art Workshops

🎨 MixMatched Creations Children’s Art Program

Welcome to the MixMatched Creations Children’s Art Program — a warm, uplifting, and skill-building art experience designed to help young artists grow creatively and confidently.

This 6-week fine art program helps children develop:

✔ Creativity

✔ Confidence

✔ Problem-solving skills

✔ Emotional resilience

✔ Real artistic technique

Each class runs 1 hour and includes engaging instruction, hands-on creativity, and plenty of encouragement from instructor Jess Rothstein and a classroom helper.

All materials, cleanup, and supervision are provided — so parents can simply drop off, relax, and watch their children grow week after week.

.

🎨 Skill-Based Class Placement

MixMatched Creations now places students based on skill level rather than strictly by age.

Artistic ability develops differently for every child. Some younger students may be ready for more advanced techniques, while some older students may benefit from strengthening foundational skills.

Class placement is determined through collaboration between the instructor and parents, considering:

• Painting skill level

• Ability to follow multi-step directions

• Attention span during longer projects

• Comfort with more detailed techniques

This approach allows each child to be placed in the environment where they can grow, feel confident, and be appropriately challenged.

.

🌟 What Makes This Program Special

A Structured, Skill-Building Art Program.

Each 6-week session introduces a variety of painting techniques and artistic concepts such as:

• Color blending

• Brush control

• Shapes-based drawing

• Texture creation

• Layering and dimension

• Light, shadow, and depth

• Composition and balance and more!

Every program features new painting themes and projects, allowing returning students to continue building their skills while new students can easily join.

Lessons are taught in a way that feels encouraging, fun, and confidence-boosting — no pressure, no perfection, just progress.

.

🌟Positive, Supportive Learning Environment

Every class includes gentle affirmations that help children build confidence in their creativity.

Class Motto:

“I imagine. I create. I improve.”

Frustration Reset Phrase

“Mistakes are part of the magic. Every time I try again, I get better.”

These simple phrases help children build patience, resilience, and self-belief — skills that extend far beyond art class.

.

👩🏼🏫 Instructor & Classroom Assistant Supervision

Students are supported every step of the way. Each class includes:

• A lead instructor providing step-by-step instruction

• A classroom assistant helping students with supplies and techniques

• Full supervision throughout the entire class

The instructor and assistant work together to ensure each child receives guidance, encouragement, and support.

Students are supervised 100% of the time during class.

.

🖌️ The 6-Week Program Format

Each session runs for 6 weeks.

Weeks 1–5

Students complete a new guided painting project each week while learning new techniques and artistic skills.

Each lesson builds confidence while encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Week 6 – Celebration Week (2-Hour Class)

The final week of the program runs 2 hours instead of 1 hour.

Hour 1: Students complete their final painting project.

Hour 2:  Student Art Showcase

Parents and family members are invited to attend a student art showcase where children proudly display the artwork they created throughout the program.

During the celebration:

• Families can walk around and view the artwork

• Students can talk about their creations

• Snacks and refreshments will be available

At the end of the showcase, each child will receive a Certificate of Completion celebrating their creativity, effort, and artistic growth.

This celebration is often a favorite memory for both students and families.

.

💻  Facebook Online Painting Subscription (Optional)

MixMatched Creations also offers a Facebook painting subscription for students who want to continue practicing outside of class.

Because Facebook does not allow creators to give subscriptions away for free, enrolled families receive:

🎟 $15 off class registration using code: FACEBOOK

The subscription costs $9.99 per month and includes:

• One new guided painting tutorial posted each week

• One monthly live paint-along session

• A growing library of painting lessons students can revisit anytime

🌟 Why the Subscription Helps

The online program is helpful for:

• Students who miss a class due to illness or schedule conflicts

• Families with busy sports schedules

• Students who want additional practice at home

If a student misses a class, they can watch the tutorial online, complete the painting at home, and still participate in the final showcase.

❤️ Giving Back to Our Community

We are incredibly grateful to the church for welcoming our art program and supporting the growth of these classes.

Because they have been so kind in accommodating us, we would love to give back to the church and our community.

The church hosts a community food pantry on the fourth Saturday of each month, helping families in need.

Families who would like to participate are invited to bring a small food donation to class whenever possible.

Donations are completely optional, but they are a wonderful way for our young artists and families to practice kindness, generosity, and community support.

.

👨👩👧 Parent Waiting Area & Nursery:

Parents are always welcome to stay during class if they prefer not to leave.

The classroom space has tables and chairs available, so parents can sit comfortably and observe or relax while the class is in session.

For families with younger children, the church also has a nursery area that siblings are welcome to use while waiting. This space can make it easier for families with multiple children to attend classes.

Please note that the nursery is not supervised during art class.

Parents who choose to use the nursery must remain responsible for supervising their younger children at all times.

We kindly ask that families help keep the nursery and waiting areas clean and tidy out of respect for the church and the shared space. Please make sure toys, belongings, and any messes are picked up before leaving.

Our goal is to create a space that feels comfortable and welcoming for the entire family.

.

📱 Class Communication & Updates

Before each class session begins, families will be added to a group text message to help keep communication simple and efficient.

This group text will be used to share:

• Important reminders before class
• Weather or schedule updates
• Any last-minute announcements
• Helpful information related to the program

The goal is to make sure everyone stays informed and up to date, while keeping communication quick and easy for busy families.

.

📝 Registration & Payment

All classes must be registered and paid for in full before the program begins to reserve your child’s seat.

Because class sizes are small and materials are purchased in advance, spots cannot be held without payment.

Registration and payment can be completed directly through the website.

.

📌Class Minimum Enrollment Policy

Classes require a minimum of 8 students in order to run.

If a class does not reach the minimum enrollment:

• Families will be offered the option to transfer to another available class time, if space allows.

• If another class time does not work for your schedule, a full refund will be issued.

Families will be notified prior to the start of the program if a class needs to be adjusted due to enrollment.

.

❄️ Snow Day & Weather Policy

If the church closes due to snow or unsafe road conditions, parents will be notified immediately text.

Because the program includes a Facebook subscription with live video capabilities, classes may be moved online for that day so students can still participate and the program can stay on schedule.

This allows students to continue learning and painting without the session falling behind due to weather.

.

🧑🎨 Missed Class Policy

Because each week introduces new techniques and builds on previous lessons, regular attendance is encouraged. However, we understand that schedules can be busy and unexpected situations may come up.

To help students stay on track, MixMatched Creations created an online Facebook painting subscription where the weekly lesson is also posted. If a student is unable to attend class for any reason, they can follow along with the tutorial online and complete the project at home.

Students may still bring their completed artwork to the final showcase at the end of the program.

For students who choose to complete the project at home:

• The canvas size used in class can be provided so students can match the project format.

• Paint and classroom supplies remain in the classroom and are not sent home.

• Families may use their own materials, and a link to the recommended supplies will be available online if needed.

Because materials and class space are reserved in advance, missed classes are not eligible for refunds or credits.

.

💳 Refund Policy

To secure your child’s spot and prepare materials in advance, all payments are:

🔥 Nonrefundable

🔥 Due at registration

🔁 Class Transfer Policy

Class registrations are nonrefundable, as materials are purchased and seats are reserved in advance.

If a family is unable to attend, they may transfer their child’s spot to another student, provided the following requirements are met:

• The instructor must be notified and approve the transfer in advance.
• The new student must complete registration and all required paperwork, including the liability waiver, before attending class.
• The transfer must take place before the program session begins.

Once the program has started, class transfers are no longer permitted.

This policy helps ensure that class spots remain filled while maintaining proper safety documentation and organization for all students.

⭐ Special Circumstances Policy

MixMatched Creations understands that unexpected situations may occasionally arise.

While class registrations are nonrefundable, families may transfer their child’s seat to another student before the program begins, provided the new student completes registration and all required paperwork.

In certain rare situations where a transfer is not possible, the instructor may offer a one-time class credit for a future session. Examples may include:

• Extended medical illness
• Emergency family situations
• Severe weather events causing multiple cancellations
• Other circumstances deemed appropriate by the instructor

Credits are not guaranteed and are issued solely at the discretion of the instructor.
If granted, credits may only be applied to a future class session and cannot be exchanged for a refund.
