Frequently Asked Questions

What types of groups do you work with?

MixMatched Creations works with businesses and corporate teams, schools, colleges and universities, sororities and fraternities, nonprofits, fundraisers, community organizations, private groups, and other organizations.

We can help you choose an experience based on your group, goals, budget, available time, and event space.

What types of events do you offer?

We offer several ways to create an event for your group, including:

  • Team-Building Challenges – Interactive activities focused on communication, collaboration, leadership, problem-solving, and friendly competition.

  • Creative Experiences – Relaxed instructor-led craft workshops without the competition.

  • Painting Parties – Step-by-step instructor-led painting on canvas, slate, wood, and other available surfaces.

  • Wood-Burning Workshops – Guided wood-burning experiences with tools, materials, practice, and safety instruction.

  • Art & Craft Kits – Prepared projects for groups that prefer a self-guided experience.

Custom and combination events may also be available.

Do participants need art experience?

Not at all. Our experiences are designed for a wide range of artistic abilities, including complete beginners.

The goal is to create, connect, and enjoy the experience—not to be a professional artist. (MixMatched Creations)

What is the minimum group size?

Instructor-led events have a 15-participant minimum unless otherwise stated.

Groups with fewer than 15 participants may still book by paying the equivalent of 15 participants at the per-person rate for the selected experience.

Is there a maximum group size?

There is no standard maximum for most experiences. Large events are planned based on the selected activity, venue space, staffing, equipment, and other event requirements.

Very large groups may use additional instructors, stations, or rotating activities.

How much do events cost?

Pricing depends on the experience, project, participant count, materials, customization, location, staffing, and event requirements.

Starting prices are available on each experience's pricing page. Your final pricing will be provided in your event quote. (MixMatched Creations)

What is included in the price?

Standard instructor-led events generally include pre-event planning, project materials, instruction or facilitation, protective table coverings, setup, cleanup, and one instructor or facilitator for up to 25 participants.

Any upgrades or additional requirements will be included in your quote. (MixMatched Creations)

How long are events?

Most instructor-led experiences are approximately two hours.

Larger groups, detailed projects, competitions, rotating activities, or custom experiences may require additional time.

Do you come to us?

Yes. MixMatched Creations brings instructor-led experiences directly to your approved event location.

Travel within 30 miles of Columbia, New Jersey is included. Additional travel fees apply outside that area.

What does our venue need to provide?

Generally, the client provides the event space, tables, chairs, and access before and after the event.

Certain projects may also require running water, additional workspace, or adequate electrical access. We will discuss any special requirements during planning. (MixMatched Creations)

Can you accommodate large groups?

Yes. Large groups can often be accommodated with additional instructors, workstations, event time, or rotating activities.

For wood-burning events, the number of participants who can burn simultaneously also depends on the venue's available electrical capacity.

Can we customize our event?

Yes. Depending on the experience, customization may include logos, organization or school colors, event themes, names, dates, custom artwork, personalized projects, engraving, awards, or other special details.

Customization availability and pricing depend on the project.

Can you create something that isn't listed on your website?

Possibly! If you have an idea for a project, challenge, theme, or event that isn't listed, tell us what you're envisioning.

We may be able to modify an existing experience or create something specifically for your group.

Can we combine more than one activity?

Yes, depending on the event. Combination and rotating experiences can be created for larger groups or events that want more than one activity.

Additional time, materials, instructors, or event space may be required.

Do you offer events for schools and students?

Yes. We work with schools, colleges, universities, student organizations, sororities, fraternities, and other educational groups.

Age, supervision, waiver, and activity requirements may vary depending on the selected experience.

Do you offer fundraising events?

Yes. Fundraising events can be planned for schools, nonprofits, organizations, teams, and community groups.

Fundraising structure, pricing, and event requirements are determined based on the selected experience and fundraiser.

Do you offer self-guided options?

Yes. Our Art & Craft Kits are available for groups that want a creative experience without an in-person instructor.

Kits include the selected project and required standard materials, supplies, instructions, and individual packaging when applicable. (MixMatched Creations)

Can participants choose different projects?

For some experiences, yes. Other events work best when everyone completes the same project.

Available choices depend on the activity, materials, preparation requirements, and group size.

How far in advance should we book?

Booking early is recommended, especially for large groups, custom projects, engraving, holidays, and popular dates.

Events requested fewer than 21 days in advance may be accepted at the owner's discretion and may require a rush-preparation fee.

How do we reserve our date?

Start by submitting an event inquiry with your preferred date, location, estimated attendance, and experience you're interested in.

Your date is reserved once your event details and pricing are approved, the event agreement is signed, and the required 50% nonrefundable retainer is received.

Receiving a quote alone does not reserve a date.

When is final attendance due?

Your guaranteed final participant count is due 14 days before your event.

Additional participants may be added afterward when materials, staffing, and space allow, but late additions are not guaranteed.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule?

Cancellation and rescheduling terms depend on how far in advance the request is made and any costs already committed to your event.

Please review our Event Policies for complete cancellation, rescheduling, payment, weather, and booking terms.

Can you accommodate accessibility needs or other special requirements?

We will make reasonable efforts to adapt instruction or participation when possible and safe.

Please tell us about accessibility needs, allergies, sensitivities, venue restrictions, or other important requirements during planning so we can help determine the best activity and setup.
