🎨 Create, Learn & Make Gifts From the Heart

Celebrate the holiday season with the MixMatched Creations Christmas Art Program!

This fun and creative program is designed for kids, teens, adults, and families! It’s a great opportunity to learn new crafting techniques while creating beautiful Christmas decorations and handmade gifts for the people you love.

Over six weeks, we’ll complete five completely different Christmas projects, exploring techniques such as string art, ornament painting, vinyl application, painting on glass, decorative painting on slate, and faux stained glass.

Several projects will also offer beginner and advanced options, allowing students to choose designs that best match their abilities and comfort levels.

Whether you’re creating decorations for your own home or making something special to give as a Christmas gift, you’ll leave each class with a handmade creation you can be proud of!

Students will build skills in:

✔ Creativity and confidence
✔ Following step-by-step instructions
✔ Painting and detailing techniques
✔ Working with wood, glass, and slate
✔ String-art techniques
✔ Applying vinyl using transfer paper
✔ Color selection and blending
✔ Decorative painting techniques
✔ Faux stained-glass techniques
✔ Turning everyday materials into beautiful handmade gifts and décor

Each class includes all supplies, guided instruction, hands-on learning, and plenty of opportunities for individual creativity.

🧵 November 12 – Christmas String Art

Kick off the Christmas season by learning the art of string art!

Students will create their own Christmas artwork using a wooden board, nails, and colorful string. They’ll learn how to carefully wrap, layer, and position string to bring their designs to life!

Choose between:

🎄 Christmas Tree – Beginner

💚 Grinch – More Advanced

The Christmas tree offers a simpler introduction to string art, while the Grinch provides a more detailed challenge for students looking to take their creativity a little further.

🔨 Important Information for Parents:

There are no age restrictions for this class! Participation is at the parent’s discretion.

Because this project involves using a hammer to put nails into the wooden board, children should either be old enough to safely use a hammer independently or have a parent present to help.

Parents are encouraged to join their child for this class if they need assistance with the hammer.

This is a fun opportunity for kids and parents to create something together while learning a new crafting skill!

 

🎨 November 19 – Christmas Ornaments (Set of 2)

Create a beautiful set of two handmade Christmas ornaments!

Students will explore painting, detailing, color selection, and finishing techniques while creating two coordinating ornaments.

We’ll focus on turning simple ornaments into personalized Christmas decorations using creativity and different painting techniques.

These ornaments are perfect for decorating your own Christmas tree or giving as meaningful handmade gifts to parents, grandparents, teachers, and friends.

And the best part? You’ll have two finished ornaments to take home!

🦃 November 26 – NO CLASS! Happy Thanksgiving!

There will be no class on Thursday, November 26, in observance of Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the holiday with your family, eat plenty of turkey, and we’ll see everyone the following Thursday for another Christmas craft!

⛄ December 3 – Snowman Wine Bottle Decoration

Turn an ordinary wine bottle into an adorable snowman Christmas decoration!

Students will learn how to transform a recycled glass bottle into a festive piece of winter décor using decorative painting and detailing techniques.

We’ll explore how to work with paint on glass, build up layers of color, and add the finishing touches that bring our snowmen to life.

This project introduces students to another completely different crafting surface and demonstrates how everyday items can be repurposed into beautiful seasonal decorations.

Your finished snowman will make an adorable addition to your Christmas décor or a thoughtful handmade gift!

🎨 December 10 – Christmas Painting on Slate

Discover the beauty of painting on natural slate!

In this class, students will create a festive Christmas painting on a piece of slate, learning how to work with a textured natural surface instead of traditional paper or canvas.

We’ll explore painting techniques, brush control, color layering, and adding details to create a finished Christmas design.

Students will learn how the slate’s natural texture and appearance can become part of their artwork, giving every finished piece its own unique character.

This project is a wonderful introduction to painting on unconventional surfaces while creating a rustic Christmas decoration that can be displayed year after year.

✨ December 17 – Faux Stained-Glass Christmas Art

Finish our Christmas program by learning how to create the beautiful appearance of stained glass using faux stained-glass techniques!

Students will learn how outlines, color placement, texture, and painting techniques work together to create the illusion of real stained glass.

Choose between:

🎄 Christmas Tree – Beginner
❤️ Christmas Cardinal – Advanced

The Christmas tree offers a simpler pattern for students learning the technique for the first time, while the cardinal provides additional detail for artists looking for more of a challenge.

Students will explore how light, color, and carefully placed outlines can transform an ordinary surface into a beautiful stained-glass-inspired Christmas decoration.

It’s the perfect way to finish our Christmas program with something truly special!

 

🎨 Skill-Based Class Placement

Our art program uses a skill-based approach rather than strict age groups.

Artistic ability develops differently for everyone. Some younger students may be ready for more advanced techniques, while some older students or adults who are new to crafting may prefer a beginner-level project.

For classes offering multiple designs, students can select the option that best matches their skill level.

Our goal is to provide enough guidance for beginners to feel successful while still giving more experienced artists opportunities to challenge themselves and learn something new.

There is no pressure to be perfect! Art is about learning, creating, and enjoying the process.

 

👨‍👩‍👧 A Christmas Program for Kids AND Adults!

Our Christmas Art Program isn’t just for children!

Kids, teens, parents, grandparents, and adults are all welcome to register.

Create alongside your child, come with a friend, bring a grandparent, or simply join us because you’d love a relaxing and creative activity during the Christmas season.

Parents are also welcome to stay and assist younger children who may need additional support.

No previous art or crafting experience is required!

Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or you’ve been crafting for years, there’s something for everyone.
